Cr. Danae Bosler is one of the three councillors representing the Langridge Ward of Yarra Council (nine councillors altogether in Yarra), elected in the 2016 council elections.
Danae is a young, with a big history in ALP, union and community advocacy, a Greek migrant heritage and tons of energy and time for her electorate. She has over ten years experience as a community organiser working on climate change and public transport campaigns across Melbourne.
Danae was deeply involved in the successful (2013 and 2014 community campaign against the East West Link toll road. (Ed. comment. Hallelujah! We stopped the East West Link.) She led the Public Transport Not Traffic campaign, a coalition of community groups campaigning for better public transport, not tolls for roads. Danae has worked with local community groups, trained volunteers and led community forums in Yarra.
It so happens that Danae’s advocacy (as member of the Collingwood Fitzroy ALP branch) was critical in development of this Yarra Labor News website.
